To be held at the Rifle Range on Porto Rico Road.<\/p>\n
Start time – 9:30 AM<\/p>\n
Match # 1
\nPistol cartridges in lever guns with exposed hammers, iron sights only.
\nThis event will be shot offhand.
\nTargets at 50, 75 and 100 yards. 5 shots per target,(15 total) and using any style bullet and any powder type.<\/p>\n
Match #2
\nRifle cartridges in lever guns with exposed hammers and iron sights. Black powder or Pyrodex type powder and lead bullets only.
\nTargets are at 75, 100 and 200 yards. Offhand or cross sticks only. 5 shots at each range, (15 total). A fouling shot will be permitted before each round of 5 shots.<\/p>\n
Match # 3
\nBuffalo rifles – single shot, exposed hammers, iron sights cast bullets and black powder or Pyrodex type.
\nCross sticks may be used for 300, 400 and 500 yard targets. 5 shots per target with a fouler shot permitted before each 5 shot group.<\/p>\n
There will be a side match for those buffalo shooters who are interested.
\nFor $5.00 you may have 3 shots to hit a “Quigley” bucket at 400+ yards.
\nA special hat pin will be awarded for a “Quigley” bucket hit.<\/p>\n
Each of the matches have a $5.00 entry fee.<\/p>\n
A commemorative prize will be awarded to the first place shooter in each event.<\/p>\n
Bring extra rounds for possible tie breaker shoot offs.<\/p>\n
The aggregate winner of all three matches will be awarded the Nelson Rod & Gun Club Black Powder Trophy and have their name on it.<\/p>\n
