Clare Palmer 1941 – 2014

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Clare Palmer on September 19, 2014. Clare passed peacefully with his family by his side. Born Richard Clare Palmer on October 2 1941, he was the eldest son of Walter and Naida Palmer. He leaves behind his beloved wife Patti and their four daughters (and families). Kimberly (Ed) Yee of Seattle, Washington and their three children Palmer, Elizabeth (Libby) and Owen; Lori (Russell) Stocks, of Nelson and their two boys Austin and Brady; Diana (Rene) Siguenza of Ottawa and their son Atticus; and Rebecca Friedberg of Philadelphia. He also leaves behind a stepmother Bea of Nelson, brother Alan of Blind Bay and sister Kathy (Bill) Wolsleger of Spruce Grove, Alberta, numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. He was preceded by his parents, infant twin sisters, a niece and sister in-law.

A prominent Nelson resident, Clare was;

– A mega supporter of all things Nelson

– Closely involved with the Rotary Club and proud of working to develop Lakeside Park.

– A long time Rod and Gun club member, very involved in the handgun and shotgun shooting sports with both the Nelson Rod & Gun Club and Silver City Trap Club.

– A Nelson Leaf fan

– The owner of West Transfer Moving, Storage and Truck Terminus for many years.

But the most treasured of all was his family and you knew that when he spoke of them.

The Celebration of Life will be held at the Prestige Lakeside Resort, 701 Lakeside Drive on Sunday, October 5 from 1-3
