t5a2S7lm01ulnshut · My dear friend, Carmen Purdy, the most fearless person I ever met, the best dad, best grand dad, best husband and best friend, passed today after a courageous struggle against the odds. My sincerest condolences to Carol, Jodi, Curt and James and all the grandkids from Beth and I. I will see you in the mountains again my friend when my time comes. Rest in peace.
Outdoor archery range targets have been taken down for the snow season and are being repaired this winter in preparation for the spring. The 3D course is also put away for the winter. The Indoor Archery range remains available to members with Covid protocol in place and times continue to be booked as per the archery calendar and contact info posted on each monthly newsletter sent out to members.

In the spirit of Community and Wildlife conservation, members of the Nelson District Rod & Gun Club, the West Kootenay Big Game Trophy Association, and the Salmo Valley ATV Club, joined forces on October 16, 2021 for the annual stocking of the Sheep Shed situated above the Salmo Creston Highway. A total of 60 bales of hay and 3700 pounds of pellets were transported to the feed site. The hay and pellets will be distributed to the sheep sometime in December through March 31, 2022.
Afterwards, the volunteers were treated to a BBQ lunch and refreshments courtesy of the NDRGC and Glen McKen.
A sincere thank you to Martech Electrical Systems Ltd who, once again, supported this worthwhile project by donating the use of a trailer to pick up the hay bales.
